Inauguration Ceremony of Greece-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Held in Islamabad
Islamabad, September 12, 2025 — The oath-taking ceremony of the newly established Greece-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) was held in Islamabad with great enthusiasm and strong participation from across the country.
The event was graced by former Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, who attended as the chief guest and delivered a keynote address.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kakar welcomed the creation of the Chamber, calling it “a significant and positive step toward strengthening bilateral trade relations between the two countries.” He further added, “Enhanced trade and investment between Greece and Pakistan will not only bolster economic ties but also open vast opportunities for businesses and investors on both sides.”
Rubina Markopoulou, founder and President, of the GPCCI, emphasized the Chamber’s mission to build a strong commercial and economic bridge between Greece and Pakistan. “The Greek market offers new and promising avenues for Pakistani products. Through this Chamber, we aim to connect entrepreneurs, enhance trade flows, and achieve mutual economic goals,” she stated.
The newly représentatif President of GPCCI, Mr. Khalid Malik, highlighted Greece’s strategic role as a gateway to the European Union. “For Pakistan, this is a golden opportunity to enhance access to European markets. The establishment of GPCCI will not only attract new investments but also create jobs and boost economic growth,” he noted.
The inauguration was attended by a large number of prominent businessmen, investors, senior government officials, parliamentarians, and representatives of various trade bodies, who all welcomed the Chamber’s formation as a step in the right direction for Pakistan’s economic and international trade development.
During her visit, Ms. Rubina Markopoulou also held productive meetings with the President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), as well as presidents of other leading chambers, Such as Rawalpindi Chamber also businessmen, of highest level in different sectors and investors across Pakistan. These engagements aimed to explore collaborative ventures, facilitate bilateral trade, and strengthen networks between the business communities of Greece and Pakistan.
The Greece-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to building sustainable business partnerships, supporting SMEs, and promoting investment opportunities that create lasting benefits for both nations.
The president Founder Of GPCCI, Miss Rubina Markopoulo also signed an MOU in Karachi with the Pak Afghan chamber of commerce and industry and renewed as well they already signed MOU with the Karachi chamber of commerce and industry.
